Certainly worth mentioning is Rory LaRue's Vintage shop on Etsy. It's curated with everything and anything vintage. Though the overall theme suggests clothing we've found much more waiting to be had.  Boots, dresses, mugs, and house decor are just a few things.

These $45 and so worth it.  These boots just got much more stylish!

We found it chock full of cool western wear including cowboy / cowgirl retro vintage boots. Rory LaRue has obviously made these boots a bit more hip and trendy by hand painting art on them.  From swallows to roses these are worth mentioning. the artwork has been sealed for durability and make these vintage couture!

Vintage BOHO Shorts in Suede are $63

This shop is worth bookmarking because you never know what you will find here. From 70s cowgirl to 50's retro floral to 60's Bohemian, the mix is superb for a vintage picker! Although the overall vibe is a mid western feel you will find other styles for your perusal.  The shop is curated by Marissa in Phoenix, Arizona.

Vintage Boots Buzzing Bees Vintage on Etsy

These great boots are at BuzzingBeesVintage on Etsy.

I found these great vintage shoes well, I should say boots on Etsy, and thought I'd share them with you.  Above we have the total GI JANE meets GRUNGE style - something I could see a hard rocker wearing. Well, maybe even someone like Pink wearing while she's dancing around the stage. So cool and retro 1990's, made to look like leather but totally faux - great for any vegans out there.  They are stiletto heeled boots with an industrial edge which is rare in itself.

I'm not sure why I favor these, BuzzingBeesVintage says they are from the 1970s and maybe that's why. I just want to wear them and stomp around in the snow. They are totally cool and weatherproof no doubt. You can look industrial chic on a snowmobile, in the winter or with your favorite vintage jeans and sweater. I wish they were my size I'd totally scarf them up.

Buzzing Bees Vintage also has this great early example of Yoki shoes $56.55--they originally retailed probably at $250+

My favorite pair has to be these fancy ankle boots by Yoki - a free trade shoe place that gained notoriety in the  20th century for having top of the line footwear imported from various countries including Italy and top fashion houses. These junior boots are most likely early 90's or late 80's and probably retailed over $250.00 originally. Buzzing Bees Vintage has them for a mere $56.55 and they still look new.  Wish they were my size.

Vintage shoes seem to have a life of their own.  These, $56 on Secret Lake.

One doesn't really take time to remember all the pairs of shoes they had in their lifetime growing up.   Perhaps "those pair" that you only wore once, or didn't feel quite right. Maybe the special occasion shoes, that you quickly outgrew. So, what ever happened to them? You gave them to a friend, or your parents donated them to Goodwill. Perhaps you had a rummage sale.  Never to be found again...until.... Etsy came along with their huge selection of hardly-worn vintage shoes.

Now I know some of you are saying "I would never wear someone else's shoes."  There's plenty of us who would.  Etsians list shoes that look barely worn!  I'm sure you can fathom obtaining the prettiest pair of shoes off the rack, wearing them to work for half a day only to toss them into the "these hurt my feet so bad today I'll never wear them again" pile. Hence, the thousands of listings on Etsy. Let's face it, everyone's feet can't handle the same shoes.  One person's trash is another person's treasure.

Now some of you live, breathe, and sleep shoes. Shoes for today, shoes for tonight, those favorite shoes that make it all right.....some of you hock your whole paycheck for new shoes.  I remember reading about Imelda Marcos of Philippines having over 2000 pairs of shoes. I suppose that made people gasp back then, but now it seems every VIP star has closets built just to organize their shoes.  Shoes are like M&M's, you can't have just one....

How many shoes do you have? I remember working as an Executive Assistant and having to dress up daily I had way more shoes than I do now. Now my shoes are casual, mostly sandals and sneakers, (do people still say sneakers?) In all honesty I think I have under 25 pair, and that's spread between two homes, some inherited from my mom who passed as we were the same size.  Let's say a total of 5 dressy, 8 sneakers, and 10 sandals or flip flops and 2 special (water shoes). I have had some shoes for years.  Ultimately in one house that's only 12 pairs total of shoes. I guess when it comes to shoes, I fall short in comparison to most.  Speaking of shoes, did you know that shoes date back to over 15,000 years ago according to this wonderful History of Footwear that you really must read sometime.

Love Me Some 80's Heels Beverly Feldman Vintage Style Shoes on Etsy

I saw these in a treasury by ReinVintageArts, ironically, the treasury was on Rainbows.  These lovelies are Size 7 1/2 , according to seller, Vintage 80s Beverly Feldman Rainbow Heels, That's a size (37.5) for you Euro sizes out there.  These are being offered by Twin Hearts Vintage out of NY City.  Not to mention they have an ultra cool shop so check it out.

Here's the thing, you have to love these shoes if you lived through the 1980's. For me, they bring back a time in my life when people (like yours truly) wore these crazy loud colors, and it was the style. The 80's were limitless in brights and neons. I remember having a black sweater dress with crazy sequined flowers all over it in rainbow colors. Clothing stores were full of neon oranges, pinks, and lime greens.  Everyone looked like a crossing guard and didn't mind.  Looking back of course I cringe at some of the things I wore, but I bet in a few more decades it will all be back in style again.

Hubby would really like me to wear these shoes. Too bad they aren't in my size.

In the meantime ladies, if any of you met (or dated your husbands in the 1980's) then perhaps these shoes would do the trick for date night. Bringing back the memories of jelly bracelets, Madonna, Duran Duran, the launch of the PC (darn that little blinking box!)  the height of Arcade Games, and crazy silly old times.

Did you know? Beverly Feldman's shoes range new around $225.00 price point, she's been designing them for over 40 years. Her styles have been worn in Sex and the City, and on the Tyra Banks show. She has her own shoe museum  (See the display here it's awesome) of which she's collected to inspire her creations. You can still see her use of vibrant colors like these today, and be certain your feet will look lovely in any of her shoes as most have adornments on the toes. She's very down to earth and has a video you can watch if you  visit Beverly's Website to see her latest creations. (I am in love with her wedges!)
