Back in the big hair 80's rocker days, there was a fashion boutique called Merry-Go-Round, however, they didn't last because their clothing was too expensive and mass produced.  You would have had to be the lead singer of Whitesnake to afford an outfit.

Vintage and antique perfume bottles are a lovely little blast from yesterday's past. Collectors love to assemble tiny collections of these great fashion trinkets.  Prices range from fantastic, to the half paycheck.

There are even collector's clubs about perfume bottles.  Collectors should check online before offing an old perfume bottle, even if it isn't fancy it could be valuable. What if you have a bottle cracked but the stopper is in good shape? Often times the glass stoppers are often lost, chipped, or misplaced and sometimes people will buy a less than perfect bottle just to obtain the stopper.

So what is it about empty perfume bottles being so alluring? Perhaps it's the romance of yesteryear, the smell of days gone by. Some still retain a small hint of their former lives. I just found this great new vintage clothing website, YordanCo!  They  sell these lovely  vintage, indie, and romantic style dresses. Soon they will be adding other apparel if they haven't already. I have to say, I'm all for the dresses. This company is out of Miami, Florida, and was created by Rachel Yordan, while still a college student with a passion for style and good taste.   This lovely boutique combines class and romance!

Vintage Clothing at AnnieRose Vintage

Annie Rose Vintage has a great style all her own. She finds the chic and hip bohemian style vintage clothing and sometimes adorns it with her own touch.  She says, "Upcycled and Vintage Clothing with a tattered shabby bohemian twist."  Lynn's beautiful eco-friendly vintage finds are often embellished, refashioned and upcycled for you!Check out some of these finds from this seller's Etsy shop!

Lynn is from Dickinson, Texas and her southern belle style shows in these lovely creations.  I would be privileged to wear one of her items. They are couture all their own and her items sell rather quickly making them a hot commodity. In fact no sooner did I post up a dress on the Etsy Recycler's Guild site last week did it sell out of her store.

$62 and so worth it this tunic top dress.

Lynn pushes the envelope on design. In fact I think if she entered one of those "American's Next Top Designer" shows she could win.  She envisions something for clothing like no other designer. You really need to tell anyone you know who loves vintage clothing or one of a kind pretty dresses, jackets, or blouses.  Not all clothing does she upcycle, some vintage she finds are just lovely on their own!

She is just so darn cute and full of vintage spunk. Such a young soul with a deep and growing appreciation of all-things-vintage-fashion. For she makes that which is old now new again and oh so hip and desirable! Her followers watch her every step and want to dress like her, she makes vintage fashion so cool.  I think she has a Marilynesque power about her that if she donned a potato sack others would follow.  She even gives away her top secrets on showing people how to make her 1940's hairdo's . ( She takes it a step further with real rag curls here!)

Perhaps the best thing about her is she is so au naturale. You can't duplicate that with any Hollywood fashion model or paid performer. No nipping and tucking and Hollywood botoxing here.... sure one may argue Solanah is young but she's also REAL. So happy doing what she does. Wearing clothes she loves!  Therefore her photos come out so darn beautiful and radiate normality! Her natural beauty captured in every shot. Perhaps that's why we can't get enough of her!

Her website is full of curiosities and untold stories of the past that one can explore via her photographs. I reminisce of how it would have been to live back in the day...oh so lovely. Is this what my now-passed grandmother once looked like in her hey-dey? Born in the 1920's she told me just how fun her life was from the 1940's to 1950's. A time when women radiated such natural beauty as the sun.... mixed with a certain class and sophistication when dressing.  They had a reason for getting out of bed and doing their hair, and having their lipstick just right....looking their Sunday best every day of the week....what happened to us?  I'm here in my favorite fuzzy pajamas with hair undone and makeup missing.  Sign, I'm so glad she keeps the dream alive. ♥
